Dr. Tara Mah

Owner and Veterinarian

Dr. Mah has loved animals and medicine for as long as she can remember.

Dr. Mah graduated in 2013 from St. Matthew's School of Veterinary Medicine on Grand Cayman Island. As part of her training, Dr. Mah completed a clinical year at the University of Minnesota. Since graduating from vet school, Dr. Mah has worked exclusively in small animal medicine, including emergency medicine.

Prior to attending vet school, Dr. Mah was a partner at a major law firm in Alberta. While Dr Mah loved practicing law, and in particular health law, she could not shake her desire to work with animals. As a result Dr. Mah decided to set off on a new adventure (vet school) that would allow her to pursue both her love of animals and her love of medicine.

Dr. Mah is very excited to be opening a new veterinary clinic in Riverside, St. Albert, where she also lives. She looks forward to developing lasting relationships with neighbours (two- and four- legged).

When Dr. Mah isn't working, she likes to spend time with her two mischevious pups, Nymphadora "Tonks" and (Professor) Sprout! (Can you tell Dr. Mah is a Harry Potter fan??)

Chrystal Casper

Owner and RVT

Chrystal was born and raised in St. Albert and has loved animals of all shapes and sizes all her life.

Chrystal came to veterinary medicine as a late bloomer and graduated in 2015 from Lakeland College in Vermillion. After graduation, despite her love for large animals, started working in small animal practice.

Chrystal is so proud to be starting a new chapter of her veterinary medicine journey as a part owner of a small animal clinic, and loves that she gets to do this in her home town. Even though she knows many people here Chrystal is looking forward to meeting new people and thier pets.

When Chrystal isn't working she likes to watch movies, play board and video games, read, golf (if you can call it that) and spend as much time at her parents cabin as she can in the summer. Taking her two small dogs, Gromit and Phoebe, whenever she can.

Emily M.

RVT

Emily grew up in St. Albert where her love for animals became a lifelong passion that led to her dream career. After high school, Emily graduated with honours from the Animal Health Technology program at NAIT in 2014. She is very excited to join the team at Riverside Veterinary Clinic as a Registered Veterinary Technician.

Emily is a strong advocate for animal wellness and believes in finding forever homes for even the most disadvantaged animals. Not surprisingly, her cat Erik is an amputee and foster fail, living his best life with Emily.

When not at work, Emily enjoys spending time with her animal family. She has one dog, Teddy (Greyhound), as well as two cats – Willie and Erik.
